Hyundai and Kia overstated the estimated fuel economy on more than 900,000 U.S. vehicles sold over the past two years and will compensate owners for the faulty claims, a newspaper reported. TWO REMARKABLE Jaguars that were found abandoned in separate garages are to be sold at auction. A 1961 E-Type, one of the earliest ever made and confirmed as chassis number 40, was discovered just a few weeks ago in a garage near Le Mans by Coys auction house, which will also complete the sale. The car hasn’t moved since it was left in the garage in 1974, although Coys claims the engine was last started five years ago and it still turns over freely.
The 2012 Ford Explorer--the first vehicle in North America to get the company's four-cylinder EcoBoost engine--is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, it was announced on Thursday morning. The 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost Explorer engine pushes out 240 hp at 5,500 rpm and 270 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm. The four-cylinder is a significant part of the Explorer's dramatic makeover, which has seen the family-hauler transition from a body-on-frame SUV to unibody underpinnings.
